Isaiah's connection to Spain started long before EasyPapeleo.
Originally from Wisconsin, Isaiah first came to Spain as a high school exchange student in Barcelona. What began as a year abroad eventually became a life in Spain. More than a decade later, he continues to live and work in the country.
Education and experience
Isaiah holds a master's degree in Spanish and experienced Spain's immigration system firsthand. While studying in Spain, he renewed his student visa multiple times before eventually navigating the transition from student status to a work visa.
Going directly to the source
During that process, Isaiah became frustrated by how difficult it could be to get clear and consistent answers. After encountering conflicting information from different lawyers regarding his student authorization renewal and subsequent work authorization, he decided to go directly to the source.
He began studying Spain's Boletín Oficial del Estado (BOE) and the legislation governing the procedures he was navigating. His goal was to understand not only what he was being told, but what the official rules actually said.
Helping others
Over the years, Isaiah also found himself helping fellow Americans, college students and retirees understand Spanish administrative processes and settle into life in Spain.
These experiences gave him firsthand insight into how difficult Spanish bureaucracy can be for people who are unfamiliar with the country's administrative system or who are navigating it in another language.
Why EasyPapeleo Exists
Eventually, Isaiah recognized that the same challenge kept coming up:
"Spanish bureaucracy can be difficult enough without having to navigate it in another language."
That realization led to the creation of EasyPapeleo.
EasyPapeleo was created to help English-speaking foreigners understand Spanish administrative documents, make sense of unfamiliar terminology, organize their paperwork and navigate administrative processes with greater confidence.
"I realized that the hardest part wasn't always the paperwork itself. It was figuring out what the paperwork actually meant and what information I could trust."

You shouldn't have to become an expert in Spanish bureaucracy just to understand your own paperwork.
EasyPapeleo is built around a simple principle: people should be able to understand the administrative processes that affect them.
The service focuses on clear explanations, document review, organization and practical administrative guidance in plain English.
The goal is not to replace qualified legal professionals or government authorities. The goal is to make Spanish administrative processes easier for English-speaking foreigners to understand and navigate.
